Complementary Healing Techniques
Our Healing Toolkit
Dr. Alex offers several effective therapies to address your specific needs:
Cupping Therapy
Using suction cups, this technique decompresses muscle tissue to increase blood flow to the area. The gentle suction stimulates surrounding muscle tissue and promotes healing by drawing fresh, oxygen-rich blood to injured areas.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
Similar to the Graston Technique, this method uses specialized metal tools to gently scrape muscle tissue. This process increases blood flow to the area, breaks down scar tissue, and decreases inflammation to promote more effective healing.
Electric Muscle Stimulation (E-Stim)
This therapy uses mild electrical currents to stimulate muscles, increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. It’s particularly effective for muscle spasms and chronic pain conditions.
Hot and Cold Therapy
These time-tested treatments reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and promote healing. Hot packs increase blood flow to an area, while cold therapy reduces swelling and numbs pain.
Wobble Chairs
These specialized chairs allow controlled movement similar to sitting on an exercise ball. The gentle motion helps mobilize the lower back, strengthen core muscles, and improve spinal flexibility.
Massage Chairs
Our massage chairs provide therapeutic relief by relaxing tight muscles, improving circulation, and complementing your chiropractic adjustments.
Band Flossing
This technique uses elastic bands around joints or muscles to improve mobility, decrease pain, and enhance recovery by temporarily restricting and then releasing blood flow to targeted areas.
Muscle Release Techniques
Dr. Alex uses various hands-on methods to manually stretch and release tight muscles, addressing trigger points and improving range of motion.
The Science Behind Our Approach
All these therapies share a common goal: increasing blood flow to bring oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to affected areas. This promotes healing by introducing good inflammation while reducing harmful inflammation, ultimately enhancing movement and accelerating recovery.
Each technique can be used individually or combined with others depending on your specific condition and needs. Dr. Alex will recommend the most appropriate modalities as part of your personalized treatment plan.
Enhancing Your Chiropractic Care
These complementary therapies work synergistically with chiropractic adjustments to help your body heal more effectively. While chiropractic care addresses misalignments in the spine that affect your nervous system, these additional modalities focus on soft tissue healing and restoration of proper movement patterns.
